Descriptions of Roles
1. Course Instructor – An instructor assigned to be the sole teacher of a course with only one section. The responsibilities include all administrative and educational duties. These include preparing all of the course material (syllabus, calendar, lecture notes, assessments, etc.) as well as lecturing.
2. AIM Instructor – The University of Florida Office of Admissions selectively chooses and admits students to the university depending on their personal and educational background. The AIM program gives students the opportunity to take basic mathematics courses with select instructors in a smaller size classroom. An AIM Instructor meets with students triple the time of a normal lecture class and (s)he becomes the instructor, mentor and discussion leader for these students. The slower-paced and less stressful environment of the class helps ease these students into the demands of college life.
3. Recitation Leader – Responsible for holding recitations every week with multiple sections and being the first point of contact for students. Also responsible for writing and grading quizzes, grading homework and exams, and proctoring.
